A waif of a woman, Sverre's stature is far from impressive and often elicits questions of her eating habits or makes those around her want to feed her a hamburger. She has long, relaxed, hair of a caramel color matched with fair skin and impossibly dark eyes that are almond in their shape. Her wardobe changes frequently, making it difficult to pin down any particular thing that is quintessential 'her' except for the eclectic. Her face is not particularly expressive and looks strange or alien when it is subjugated to relaying strong emotional responses.

  • Height: 5 foot 6 inches
  • Weight: 119 pounds
  • Distinguishing Features:
    • a couple beauty marks reside on her face
    • extensively tattooed in all the places you aren't allowed to see

A very unusual name suits this very unusual witch from an off-the-rails pureblood family native to the Icelandic plains. Sverre is of a serious, thoughtful nature. She is most often shrewd and efficient to the point of obsession. She takes her independence seriously and does not allow herself to be influenced by others or cultural norms. Her desire for that independence and freedom from the authority can make her argumentative and volatile. Despite this, Sverre is not overly ambitious and prefers stable conditions. She is inclined to be rather serious, and does not tend to respond spontaneously in her relationships. Sverre's positive manner and outlook can sometimes come through as if she is imposing her will on others and interfering in their affairs, contrary to what she desires for herself. Her lean toward obsession and worry often causes her to accept (not battle) bouts of insomnia where delusions of grandeur run rampant.

Notable Skills

She can drink you under the table and is a huge fan of self-medication. She has an impressive repertoire of mastered languages - English, French, Icelandic, Norwegian, German, and Russian among them. Once upon a time, she wrote a few very eloquently-worded scholarly articles on Alchemy and Potioneering that were extraordinarily well-researched (leading to a small bump in the road with an accusation of human-testing - total rubbish). In her school days, it could be said that she may have been the best match-maker in Durmstrang. Other than that, Sverre can probably recount more Norse, Slavic, and Celtic fables than anyone else you'll ever know.

Magical Skills

  • Strengths:
    • Charms & Counter-Charms: You're not going to be blowing anything up with charms, but they're a versatile magic to keep brushed up on.
    • Divination: Sverre's favorite hobby - second to her one true calling - is performing any and every branch of divination - be it smoke, tea, or numbers.
    • Potions: By far, her shining jewel. Sverre is well-read and well-practiced in brewing and applying potions, poisons, and antidotes. Her passion lies in brewing new and unusual potions, but always returns to the classics - simple and advanced. Sverre was a member of the Most Extraordinary Society of Potioneers for a while prior to some silly little scandal.
  • Weaknesses:
    • Combative Magic: There'll be no flashy boom-boom-bang out of her wand - just her potions.
    • Dark Arts: Basically anything having to do with curses, hexes, jinxes, and any of their counters are unnecessary. There's a potion for that.
    • Healing: There's a potion for that, too.
  • Notable Abilities:
    • Corporeal Patronus in the shape of a ravaging Boar

Brief History

Sverre comes from a line of witches and wizards who can - in theory - trace their lineage to before the time of Norse expansion - all the way to the eastern Siberia and frequently appear in the mythologies of the native populations. Whether this is actually true or just romantic nonsense is up for some debate. What can be said is that her family has remained isolated and pure since they settled on Iceland, creating individuals with a predictable temperament, appearance, and strong suits. The "Valgerður" family is known, if at all, for producing witches and wizards naturally adept at divination, potions, and (or) transfiguration. When enforcing their beliefs of blood-purity, this is a factor they use to their advantage - as they clearly feature in fables as fortune-tellers, shape-shifters, and veritable witch-doctors.

Now, Sverre isn't certain she actually believes all that, but she has retained a sense of stubborn pride for her long ancestry. Growing up through hard times seems to have effected her very little. She attended Durmstrang - though she would have preferred Hogwarts - for tradition's sake. She became fairly popular there for her knack with pairing her fellow students in successful relationships (most of which have subsequently taken vows of 'until death do us part').

These days, Sverre rents upstairs space through at a little specialty shop on the corner of Diagon and Knockturn Alley and works as an independent contractor with the occasional stint in part-timing.

She's sure this next project will be her big break— a tincture a bit different than what she's known for. Sverre's Devilishly Dapper Doppelbock will be ready to hit the tap soon! She has high hopes that the Leaky Cauldron will pick up the first brew.
